Our Team

Dr Robert Harper

Dr Robert Harper has been a dentist for 34 years.

He has a passion for his job and thoroughly enjoys the interaction with his patients, as well as the technical aspect of being a dentist.

Dr Harper graduated from Melbourne University in 1976 and after working in the suburbs on Melbourne, moved to Portland, in Western Victoria where he not only gained a vast knowledge in dentistry, but also the ability to engage with people and understand their dental needs across all facets of dentistry. Dr Harper gained much experience in Portland but decided to further enhance his career in Melbourne and undertook a course in ‘Crown and Bridge’ at Melbourne University, as well as setting up a practice in Swanston Street.

Dr Harper’s passion is to have the latest technology and a well-designed, hygienic and joyful environment to work in and be supported by talented and caring staff. A move to Bridge Road, Richmond has encompassed his idea of a great practice - a of the state of the art surgery designed with excellent dentistry in mind and comfort for the staff and patients.

A highly dedicated dentist and regular participant in Continuing Professional Development, Dr Harper also loves nothing more than spending time with his family, cooking for everybody and getting into the great outdoors as much as possible. Oh and did we forget to mention- he likes photography! He appreciates the fact that his profession has allowed him to work in an Aboriginal Community and he continues to provide dentistry to the less privileged through various ventures.

We continue to be amazed at his level of enthusiasm for all things dentistry and we know he is very proud of the practice he has created at Richmond.

Dr Sally Whitmore

Sally is the newest member of our team at Richmond Fine Dentistry. Originally hailing from Maryborough, she spent 17 years in Perth before seeing the light and moving back east in January 2013.

Sally has a bit of a travel bug which she has managed to combine with her passion for drilling and filling. Sally has worked not only in metropolitan WA, but along its beautiful south coast, in remote Aboriginal communities, and has also done a stint as a volunteer in Vietnam. Despite an ultimate ambition to specialise in orthodontics Sally is thoroughly enjoying the full range of dental challenges here in Richmond.

When she's not busy with her pintsized hands in someones mouth, Sally loves contorting her body in Bikram yoga, and is a keen (if slightly uncoordinated) snowboarder.

Nicole

Nicole Masters came to our practice from South Australia where she graduated from her Bachelor of Oral Health.

Nicole had previously worked as a dental nurse then realised she could make a difference to people’s lives by becoming a hygienists/therapist. We’re glad she decided to become a hygienist/therapist- she is great at helping her patients improve their oral health condition.

Young children and teenagers relate well to Nicole- she can really engage with them and therefore gets good results because of patient motivation. They sense the happy environment she and Maddy create and this makes the appointment more relaxed and comfortable and children/teenagers more receptive to information and education. Healthy smiles growing up = happy smiling adults. Nicole spent some years after graduating in a great practice in Mildura but now resides in Melbourne. Nicole is available for school children education and public speaking events for people interested in oral health, like staff at nursing homes and hospitals.

Nicole is busy outside of Richmond Fine Dentistry, being active in the great outdoors and enjoys Pilates and music.

Lidia

If you have met Lidia already, you will know what we mean when we say how delightful, caring and genuine she is. Having worked with Dr Harper for 5 years, they work as a great team and Lidia is an excellent patient care coordinator because she has a vast knowledge about treatment planning and is patient and caring.

Lidia always follows up with treatment plans or whitening results, and cares very much about her patients. Our patients keep coming back, when Lidia goes on holidays, time and time again we hear, “Where's Lidia?” Often she has gone back to her home town Perth, or she might be in Thailand having far too much fun.

Lidia loves her Melbourne life of catching up with friends, going to the gym, dancing and socialising.

Judy is always happy to help with all aspects of the dental practice, and manages the reception for physiotherapy and the hand rehabilitation clinics that share our rooms. We always know when she is around because the magazine selection is fancy, the flowers abundant and the aromatherapy smells great.
